Jackedfruits are offensive plants that shoot seeds from their stems that reach lower distances and higher damage when your sun is low.

Overview[]

A Jackedfruit's seeds deal 2.5 damage when they hit a zombie. These seeds travel in a slightly arched pattern, meaning that a Parasol Zombie can deflect its seeds if the zombie is close enough.

The maximum distance these seeds can travel in front of the Jackedfruit varies depending on the amount of sun the player has. Heavier seeds also deal slightly more damage.

  • 200+ sun: 5 tiles, 2.5 nds
  • 150+ sun: 4 tiles, 2.75 nds
  • 100+ sun: 3 tiles, 3 nds
  • 50+ sun: 2 tiles, 3.25 nds
  • 0+ sun: 1 tile, 3.5 nds

Note that a Jackedfruit's seeds can still hit a zombie that is closer than the maximum amount of reach that the Jackedfruit has.

If a Jackedfruit is next to a sun-producing plant, then its reach is increased by 1. If a Jackedfruit is played in a foggy or night level, then its range is decreased by 0.5.

Jackedfruit cannot be moved by a zombie, such as Mecha-Football Zombie or Excavator Zombie.

It is not recommended for Last Stand levels, as they are somewhat expensive and sun cannot be reproduced. It is also recommended to be planted once the player has a good inflow of sun.

Jackedfruit is based off of the jackfruit, a.k.a. Artocarpus heterophyllus. Its name is a portmanteau of "jackfruit" and "jacked," slang for strong or hefty.

Plant Food Ability[]

Using Plant Food on Jackedfruit will cause it to launch 8 large seeds across the board. These seeds lodge themselves into the ground, causing damage to zombies that walk into them. They deal 15 nds on initial contact, and 2 nds on latter contact. These seeds stay for 5 to 7 seconds. They cannot lodge themselves onto a tile where a plant is residing in, but if it has to, they will only deal initial contact.
