Gladormadsu are offensive and hypnotizing plants that fire three projectiles, normally damaging and occasionally hypnotizing.
Overview[]
Gladormadsu fires three bamboo shoots at once, each dealing 0.5 damage points (for 1.5 points of damage in total) at a regular rate of fire.
Every 30 seconds, it'll start to fire hypnotic projectiles, which retain the same velocity as the normal projectiles. It'll fire three projectiles in total with a 5 second delay between each projectile. After the third hypnotic bamboo shoot, it'll wait another five seconds before returning to the normal rate-of-fire of the damaging bamboo shoots. It'll start hypnotizing again after 30 seconds.
Gladormadsu is semi-lobbing, as its projectiles retain the qualities of a lobbed projectile (ignores fluff, hits submerged zombies, counters slope, etc.), but they travel at a faster speed in order to get to zombies in the same amount of time as a Peashooter's projectile would.
Gladormadsu is based on the kadomatsu, which is a Japanese decoration celebrating the New Year. It's name is a portmanteau of "kadomatsu" and "glad or mad", which references its two attacking states of violence and persuasion.
Plant Food Ability[]
Under the effects of Plant Food, Gladormadsu fires five large bamboo shoots in her lane. The first four deal 25 damage points, while the fifth is hypnotic. The zombie that the fifth one hits is healed completely, and has their health raised by 15 bites on top of that.
Strategies[]
Gladormadsu is designed to be a strong plant that needs to be placed wisely. Having the same cost, and a very slightly higher dps, as a Melon-pult, but with hypnotism and no splash damage, Gladormadsu should be treated with the same importance as a Melon-pult or Caulipower.
Unlike Caulipower, Gladormadsu is fine-tuned to defend its row, especially considering its lack of splash damage that other plants in the same cost range have. As such, the row this will be planted on should be a row that's having trouble defending itself.
However, Gladormadsu cannot defend a row on its lonesome. Defensive plants and other stalling plants allow it more time to reach its hypnosis, or more time to just damage the zombies.
Note that its damage may harm the same zombies it will hypnotize. Try calculating which zombies are most likely to be killed, and then freeze any zombie that you want to be hypnotized. This way you can preserve stronger zombies to fight for you, while lesser zombies are picked off.
As with most plants, having multiple of Gladormadsu planted on power tiles is a sure fire way to kill off many zombies with one plant food.
