Plants vs. Zombies Character Creator Wiki
This creation was a submission to the Year of the Goat Contest!

Baa-shroom is a plant in Plants vs Zombies: The Wacky House. He is unlocked after beating Level 2-8: The Big Boys. He shoots spores out of his cap, dealing 20 damage. If the player clicks on the Baa-shroom, it will eat the tile in front of it. This will leave the tile unplantable for 60 seconds, until it grows back.

Origins[]

Its name refers to its creation during the 2015 Year of the Goat contest, and its goat-like horns, and the fact that it is a mushroom.

Almanac entry[]

Rare counterpart[]

Rare Baa-shroom2

Rare Baa-shroom is Baa-shroom's rare counterpart. Baa-shroom gains +30 damage when fed rather than +10. However, it has to eat two tiles in front of it rather than one. Rare Baa-shroom is a darker shade of red, and its cap is blue with purple splotches. Its eyes are bright red and open rather than closed, and its horns are curled into a "C" rather than an "S".

Strategies  (Free-Edit Section)[]

Baa-shrooms, in their baseline statistics, are essentially the same as Peashooters, although without any Torchwood synergy. However, it can deal 1.5x more damage if the player just sacrifices the tile in front of it. Although this may not seem like a big difference, it can go a long way in the long-run. Baa-shroom's long range means that the player has many options in where they wish to plant the Baa-shroom. Placing Baa-shrooms in the far back can give close-ranged plants the chance to be effective. However, as a result, this would push your Sunflowers more forward. If one wants to prioritize Sunflowers more, then Baa-shrooms could be placed in front of them.

Baa-shrooms can be handy in saving sun in nighttime areas. The tradeoff of getting rid of one tile for more fire power can seem less dangerous here, since the player has to fight on a small budget in these levels. They also generally just give a headstart to the defense's firepower.

In daytime areas, Baa-shroom becomes a bit less useful since it would now require a Coffee Bean to work. In that case, it would still end up dealing more damage than Peashooter, yet less damage than Repeater, with an in-between price of 175.

The player can take advantage of Spikerock's ability to be planted on any surface to make the best of the empty tile that Baa-shroom leaves.
