Etrfog is an instant-use plant, which blinds zombies ahead of it.
Overview[]
When Etrfog is planted, it opens its mouth, releases a dark cloud, and then disappears. This cloud, which extends 4 tiles ahead of it, makes zombies unable to eat or attack any plant. Instead, they walk right past them, unless it's a Tall-nut or some other heavy-duty defense plant. This cloud lingers for 5 seconds, and then dissipates.
If a Gargantuar cannot pass a plant, it will simply stand still, doing nothing.
Etrfog is based off of the etrog, and its name is a portmanteau of "etrog" and "fog."
Strategies[]
Try to avoid using Etrfog when zombies are close to your house, or if your level plant highly involves defensive plants. Etrfogs should be used when you want to preserve your plant, and if you believe that incoming zombies can be easily taken out. This means that avoid using Etrfog against high-health zombies, like Gargantuars or Pharaohs.
Blinded zombies don't walk past heavy-duty walls, but they also don't eat them. A Plant Food Endurian can be highly effective when coupled with an Etrfog.
Etrfog can also be used with plants that push zombies back, such as Spring Bean, Chard Guard, or Hurrikale. A blinded zombie that's pushed back will have to endure more attacks from plants, all while not being able to eat them. A Hurrikale is also effective for pushing zombies into a cloud left by an Etrfog.
