Bamboo Shoot is an attacking plant in Plants vs. Zombies: The Final Showdown based on the Bamboo Shoot  from Plants vs. Zombies Adventures, Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare and Garden Warfare 2.

In this game, he launches explosive shells at zombies in a 5x5 area, similar to his Adventures incarnation. He will usually target the zombie farthest left in its range, though he will prioritise zombies that are extremely close in front first, to defend himself from attack.

His attacks cause 200DPS in a 3x3 area, enough to defeat a basic Zombie in one hit, but it only attacks every 2.5 seconds, amounting to similar dps to a Gloom-shroom.

It is unlocked after beating Night 13 of The Great Graveyard.

Strategies[]

While Bamboo Shoot may appear to be a pure DPS plant for taking down strong targets, it mainly shines at taking down groups. A single Bamboo Shoot will essentially ensure that no basic zombie can get by, and will heavily damage hordes of Coneheads or even Bucketheads, but will struggle against zombies such as Gargantuars.

Planting multiple Bamboo Shoots will improve their effectiveness against strong targets. Due to targeting as far as two rows above or below, groups of Bamboo Shoots will often end up all targeting priority enemies that take a long time to defeat, such as Gargantuars. Placing them behind defensive plants or using stalling tactics is an effective way to give them enough time to handle most zombies. If you can set up a full column, then, while expensive, you will likely be able to defend against most zombies without much effort.

A Bamboo Shoot's biggest weakness is fast-moving zombies, particularly ones that can bypass your defences. Due to its low attack speed, a fast zombie such as a Dolphin Rider could get past a defensive plant and directly threaten the Bamboo Shoot before it gets a chance to fire. Additionally, while one shot will easily elminate a horde of Chickens, they could have around two seconds to freely attack your defences before it fires off that shot. Extra precautions need to be taken to deal with zombies such as these, as you don't want to let them eat a 500 sun plant.
